The EU as Dictatorship
Your, quote: "a Political, Economic, and Security Masterplan for the EU’s future generations" reads like the Manifest of a Dictator out on Domination as inspired by his One Totalitarian System called the EU! Your blatant Imperialistic Dictatorial EU-isme is as monstrously arrogant and dangerous as any Welt-Reich ideology. I note that the emphasis in your 'Declaration for the Submission (!) of all Blessed (!) Countries bordering the EU is - Quote: 'a free trade zone starting an economic revolution'. Yóur Revolution indeed considering that Europeans decline to be subjected to the Gleichschaltung ordered by destructive Capitalist Globalisation to serve The Golden Calf of the Mighty Dollar! Since when are 'Moldavia, Mongolia, Turkey ..... European countries? You must be joking or conjuring-up a Utopia which endangers (!) Europe, her cultures and achievements. The Dutch and the French voted 'NO' against domination of a Totalitarian EU Regime and against entry of Islamists Turkey, while other Europeans (who would equally have rejected the Eu Constitution and 'Turkey') weren't given a chance to vote 'No'. Most Europeans do not want to be ruled by a Kafkaesque 'Benevolent but Despotic SUPER EU Power which is a gigantic Babylonic self-serving bureaucracy that cannot be democratically controlled by the very Europeans who the EU is supposed to represent. 'Putin' is only óne stupidity Europe can blame herself for with the help of the USA - the Biggest Bully in the Class which only (!) lives by the Power of the Gun! Quote: "A Special Political and Economic Relationship between the EU and Russia" is presumptious and cannot be dictated tó Russia! Quote: "Death squads are roaming out from the Kremlin." Sure, but USA policies can equally be called 'death squads eliminating" any (!) country in the way of USA economic interests! I'm as appalled by Putin's autocracy as by USA dictatorship and hér vile 'democratic policies' in and outside the USA! Russia has allready been "islolated" BY the EU! Quote: 'Priviledged Partnership' - who are you to give Russia 'priviledged status'? Your attitude is an arrogant joke. Quote: "Democracies don’t fight other brother democracies." Is that so while the Walloons are at loggerhead with the Flemish in Belgium; the Irish were untill very recently fighting amongst the Irish; as are the Basque against Spain in terms of indigenous rights, land and culture. Peoples are nót about 'economic interest' and certainly not ónly! You forget that 'democracy and the economy' falls by the wayside when people feel their cultur(es) and their land (!) are threathened in whatever way. Quote: "One of the great success stories in the history of democracy was the EU accession of 10 former Eastern European nations in 2004." That's a joke as immediately upon joining the EU the Extreme Right in Rumania (?) joined hands with the Extreme Right in Belgium in order to get power in the EU parlement; and Poland is a fervent Nationalistic Wild Card in he EU. The EU as you propose is too complex, holds too many unknown dangers concerning internal divisions and nationalisme within various countries. Your: "All nations bordering the EU have a moral right [as of course given by the Benevolen EU dictatorship]] to join provided [!] they meet one of the following 3 criteria" is too arrogantly dictatorial for words. 'Europe without borders lives in Peace'? You must be joking as Dutch people are literally (!) moving out of cities in order to avoid the invasion of Polish Workers, muslim antics, and criminals who cross unprotected EU borders and who make Hell of their previous (!) peacefull Dutch environment. To further destroy your delusions ask the Irish, the English, the French (who voted for Sarkozy!) how they think about mass-immigration .... ask all Europeans how they feel about the Islamisation of Europe through immigration and your 'Revolutionary ideals' will sound very hollow, arrogant and presumptious indeed!

The EU And Russia
THE EU AND RUSSIA

There can be no doubt that President Putin is behind the recent assassinations in Moscow and London. His is the mind that is directing these evil acts with total deniability, of course. What Putin has established in the Kremlin is a Murder Inc. mafia controlling total political and economic power. Death squads are roaming out from the Kremlin. Anyone who threatens – this power – is eliminated. Just as Russia was about to emerge from 1000 years of darkness, into the light of democratic freedom - Putin and his KGB gang has plunged his people back into the abyss. Quoting the famous Russian writer Vladimir Sorokin “Germans, Frenchmen and Englishmen can say of themselves: "I am the state." I cannot say that. In Russia only the people in the Kremlin can say that. All other citizens are nothing more than human material with which they can do all kinds of things.” This is the Russia, Putin has created. An immoral, lawless wasteland. He is a traitor to his country. He is a traitor to his people.

However all is not yet lost for the EU or the Russian people. The EU must go directly to the Russian people and offer them a different vision of their future – a future of a strong democratic Russia - economically and politically. The success of the EU experiment is absolutely essential for Russia's economic future. A successful and peaceful democratic transformation of Russia is absolutely essential for the EU’s economic future. A true symbyonic relationship. A democratic Russia in an alliance with the EU would create a powerful and stabilizating force for world peace.

It is important to the EU that Russia not be isolated but brought into the European family of nations as a full and equal partner. It was Putin who once stated that he wanted - A Europe WITHOUT BORDERS. The EU must now take Putin up on his offer. The EU must explain to the Russian people that because of the expansion of NATIO and the EU for the first time in a thousand years - Russia is free from invasion from the West. Russian mothers no longer have to bury their sons by the millions due to invasion or leave their dead bodies on European battlefields due to their government alliances with Western countries.

The expansion of the EU through the Enlargement Process and the creation of a Special Free Trade Zone including a privileged partnership with Russia is the only way to guarantee freedom and democracy for Russia and Central Asia and oil/gas supply security for Europe.

THE EUROPEAN AND RUSSIAN DESTINY: DEMOCRACY
The national security of the EU and Russia can only be guaranteed by all countries adopting democracy and the rule of law. Democracies don’t fight other brother democracies. Their people would rather drink beer then make war. Democracy can only be spread through example and formulation of alliances. Its implementation aided through trade, economic aid, and the creation of free trade blocks - never though the use of force. Employing the sword to spread democracy is a true oxymoron.

The EU is one of the most important entities to the success of democracy. Europe is building a country composed of independent nation states. This mission is truly heroic and historic. One of the great success stories in the history of democracy was the EU accession of 10 former Eastern European nations in 2004. One hundred million people brought home to Europe as free and democratic peoples. After two world wars and the death of 110 million people in the space of 30 years – this was a remarkable achievement.

Unfortunately the EU has recently lost its way. The future of both Russia and the EU depends on the successful completion of the European experiment. Brussels in partnership with a democratic Russia must put together an action plan to complete EU expansion and create a free trade zone of democratic nations stretching from the Atlantic to the Pacific and from the Arctic to the Antarctic (2.4 billion people.) The EU and Russia must fulfill their common destiny – a democratic partnership.

One can only look aghast at the EU's stupidity.
Quote:
The opportunity has long since gone.
The author does not even suggest how to admonish Russia. That can't be done by sanctions, nor political pressure, nor by any other means because of Russia's Oil and Gas supplies, the Golden Taps which Russia simply will shut-off should the EU undertake any action to hamper the Putin dictatorship. The opportunity has long passed wherein the EU should have invited Russia into the EU instead of making an enemy of Russia by only inviting her Satelite States which has resulted in an isolated, insulted, therefore angry Puttin who rightfully can't see any reason at all why he should co-operate or listen to Europa who dumped Russia. After this it would indeed be rather arrogant of Europa to think she has the right to: 'try and Democratise Russia also in view of Human Rights' as the EU has forfeited that opportunity and right by isolating Russia from the EU. Russia in the EU would have been a golden opportunity to join with a large, resource-rich country, with a similar culture and religion (churches are In again) as a defence against Islamist infiltration into Europe; as Strategically located to help defend against China should that become necessary - and with ample opportunity to pressure Putin (as member of the EU) into Democracy. Gone! Instead Putin is forced to turn to e.g. North Korea and Iran to find allegiances which will help him protect Russia from EU Strategic Infiltration in her former Satelite States such as Poland - and with a big USA finger in the pie of the EU also in those former Satelite States. The same EU who talks with Turkey for possible entry in the EU, with Turkey an instable Islamic country with Islamists allready in Parlement, with fervent Nationalisme with in view 'a Great Turkey as it once was', with an Islam culture and religion that go directly against the culture(s) in the EU. One can only look aghast at the EU's stupidity.

Moral franchises vs. expired ideologies
Quote:
The new dissidence that was recently manifested in Moscow failed to impress the moral and political authorities. Paris, Rome, London, Berlin turned away and came to their own conclusion: Putin, his oil and gas, his weapons of destruction and the weapons that he sells to the entire world weigh more than a few thousand demonstrators who are beaten, dispersed and arrested by security forces ten times stronger.
The whole idea of somehow progressive West (let's face it, "Paris, Rome, London, Berlin" are West - and why is Rome on the 2nd place anyway?) giving some 'moral' support to the backwards East is stale, moldy and discolored. There is no more ideological chasm between the two - there is no ideology whatsoever. So no one is going to get too excited when any particular government on the discolored contintent supresses its subjects.

After all, the only difference is that Russia does not have yet effective precision mechanisms for political control that West developed - just give her a few years more. If there is any chasm, it's in this mechanics of governing. A bit fewer killings, a bit finer media control, population a bit more in debts - and there you are.

To generate some excitement you need ideological differences, and currently in most of europe they are cosmetic and boil down to somehow becoming second-hand america.

This is why even in europe the most interesting debates are about the only two existing ideologies on the planet - american hegemony and refurbished islam. You see, ideologies have to be simple (even for sophisticated europeans to get interested.) And what can be simpler than these two? And they are both so proactive - conquer, pillage, convert. Compare that to boring preservationism, world peace and similar - who is going to get excited about NOT doing things or about turning the clock back to some idyllic point in the past? Which is why islam is spreading in europe - there is nothing else.

So forget about "russian dissidents". Even if Russia by magic became a modern state tomorrow, that will solve nothing.

Europe will do the right thing - back Russians hoping for a more normal country.
Quote:
... a place where "a bullet in the head is still the fastest way to solve a conflict" (as a visionary Anna Poltikowskaja wrote in 2003).
I thank Mr. Glucksmann for his insights and measured words of warning. And the infantile and delusional attempts by Cassandra to equate the current version of brutal Tsarism in the Kremlin with European society, even with all its flaws and worts, is not worthy of serious consideration.
