Misrepresenting America (again)
Quote:
At the beginning of the 70's not a month went by without at least one major American city going up in the flames of insurrection. There was not a single major American city which did not have entire districts that were controlled by armed groups.
Excuse me, but you do not know what you are talking about. For those of us in major American cities at the time, there were none that were controlled by armed groups.

If you are referring to race riots, they occurred in the last 1960s, not in the 1970s. They were characterized by generally unarmed mobs of maybe 100 at a time who were looting businesses. The majority of deaths occurred when individuals in these mobs, carrying cases of expensive whiskey, TVs sets, and other loot, tangled with police. This basic urban rioting had nothing to do with terrorism.

The Weathermen and their kin had no constituency in the U.S., not even among those whose political beliefs approximated theirs. The numbers of these so-called terrorists were minuscule, and they had no significant funding, unlike Islamic terrorists. To raise money, they robbed banks, for which, when they were caught, they went to jail for bank robbery and even murder.
