The point is to change it
Quote:
The prospect of having to sit through 133 minutes of an Imam's theological hair-splitting and the thickness of the manuscript in Zapakta's hands is enough to make any viewer balk. Get out of the cinema quick, says the voice in your head. But the effect of this minimal set-up soon starts to work.
One immediately considers the cinematic potential of unfiltered lectures/sermons by Andreas Bader, Jim Jones, the Unibomber, Idi Amin, Pol Pot, Robert Mugabe, and any number of other more or less successfully demonic demagogues. Only those comfortably plumped in the luxurious theater of well-paid academic contemplation will give a right damn about what any of these goofs think. Not even their true believers really care about that - what's wanted is an excuse to raise hell.
