congrats
I was sad to learn this past Monday that I'd no longer be starting my workday here in Canada by reading up on the politics and culture of Europe. Sign and Sight first caught my attention with the lengthy and lively multiculturism debate back in the winter, and since then I have been a regular reader. Your publications have helped give voice to many of the contemporary world's (not just Europe's) pertinent debates, and the online format, though evidently troubled, will continue shaping the news and ideas the world receives. Congratulations on an outstanding job, and best of luck with your future endeavours. I hope you can return to your full format soon!

Thanks
I've only just begun reading S&S on a regular basis and love it. Please do what you can to continue providing as many pieces as possible. New York, NY

Another way to read a rough version of SignAndSight
Quote:
The Rudolf Augstein Foundation in Hamburg has already agreed to support us for the coming four years, for which we are very grateful.
Sorry to see you go, weekly.

I found it very interesting and in view of the Spiegel article on FAZ last week, essential to cover the trade.

What readers might do, and you could give a posting on the English page, is to apply the various machine translation machines to the Mutter-signandsight, that of http://www.perlentaucher.de

Besides the venerable http://www.babelfish.altavista.com
or http://www.bablefish.yahoo.com
there is the Foxlingo Extension to the Firefox (Mozilla) web browser which provides a dozen pairings just for Deutsch<->English,
and all subsequent pages, digging down, will be translated too.

They are rough translations, but daily so that one can keep the same frequency.

I hope that you can come back, daily, soon.

funding sign&sight
Sorry to hear that the funding is about to stop.

I think, also based on the feedback I got from other readers, that Signandsight.com was more effective in spreading the word about Germany and german view of europe than anything else I've seen - including the moribund Goethe Institut and tacky Deutsche Welle taken together.

Too bad bureaucrats don't grasp that.

Greetings, I have greatly enjoyed the English services of signandsight.com and have found it to be the most indispensible formula for my interaction with European information. Congratulations on an exemplary production, I look forward to many seasons of communication from you.

With best regards from San Fransisco, U.S.
