unknown Ukraine
The author of the article on Ukraine most probably studied history from Russian history originally. What is ridiculous he claims that there is Caucaus in Ukraine: Caucaus is not in Ukraine at all. Check geografical web sources for references.

Common Sense Critics: Kyiv Rus was based in Kyiv (Kiev) and then when Dolgorukov (most probably renamed from Dovgorukiy (one having long arms- in Ukrainian lenguage)financed the set up of Moscow city. Then Riurik's family moved from Kyiv to Moscow and named it as "capital" of Kyiv Rus, afterforwards Rus' expanded to the EAST. Russian history makers (politicians acting in the past)say that Russia was born in Kiev and thus Ukraine is Malorosia (Little Russia). The fact of nobles moving to the East does not mean population moving there in its mentality. And now russian speaking ukrainians claim they are Ukrainians and not Russian. Russian lenguage was main in USSR and Kyiv was third major city in that machine. Ukraine was second economically and politically active. People speak Russian because they were taught in Russian. Americans speak English, and they are still not British citizens, or are they?

Regarding Church, baptism of Kyiv Rus was before separation of Orthodoxes and Catholics that is in 998 when church's schism was in 1054. It was aquired from Konstantinopol Orthodox rite of worship and Moscow Patriarchate was established in 1448. So, to claim that Eastern rite means Eastern mentality is fake. The existence of Ukrainian Catholic Church (biggest united orthodox with Rome in the world) brings light that only political interference of West and East does not afford the nation to live in the manner it wishes. You call this European, and they think that they are much more better than this. But murders and repression and propaganda in Soviet and Post Soviet time made its course.
